Rod Myer has spent more than 20 years in the Australia media, as an aviation and business journalist, author, and communicator. He has worked for The Age, The Sunday Age, The Herald Sun and The Herald, specialising in airlines, as well as business, energy, infrastructure and finance.

Rod has an in-depth knowledge of the airline industry from a journalist's perspective. He has covered all of the major aviation industry stories of recent times, including airline amalgamation, the rise of the discount fliers and new long haul carriers, airline mergers and joint operational agreements, and rising fuel and security costs and climate change.

Rod is experienced in dealing with government, having also worked as a speech writer and policy adviser for the Australian Democrats at the time they held balance of power in the senate. He is the author of Living the Dream, the biography of Melbourne businessman and philanthropist Victor Smorgon and has published a volume of his own poetry entitled Prayers for a Modern Man.
