Cole Lawson joins PRIA's RCG network

2/4/2008

Brisbane-based communications firm Cole Lawson has been accepted into the PRIA's prestigious Registered Consultanies Group (RCG).

The RCG imposes professional standards on consultancies that offer reassurance to clients that they are dealing with a professional and ethical organisation.

Cole Lawson Director Margaret Lawson said PRIA RCG acceptance was important to Cole Lawson because many people had a misconception of what public relations involved.

"The public relations industry has been marked in the past by behaviour of a minority of firms who reflect badly on those of us who operate ethical and highly professional companies," Ms Lawson said.

"There is definitely a need for a group of practices that strive for professional excellence, and who work to give the public relations industry a more reputable image.

"At Cole Lawson, we aim to be highly capable and trusted business advisers to our clients. We find that by operating to this high standard, our clients respect and value our advice and the contribution we can make to their reputation and bottom line. The RCG is a further recognition of our commitment to being the best we can be."

Joining the PRIA's RCG is a peer-review process, and requires that the agency's principal is both a PRIA member and has significant experience in operating a consultancy.

Cole Lawson was started by Margaret Lawson in 2004 and traded as Rush Communication and Media Solutions until early 2008. Rush and Cole Lawson have worked with well-known global and national brands, and have clients across a range of sectors including energy, engineering, healthcare, property and nonprofit.

Cole Lawson's vision is to be the leading consultancy its clients rely on for experienced, trusted communications advice and management.
