Media Awareness

Media is an essential and valuable part of the business landscape. If your role requires you to liaise with the media, or work with those who do, this half-day session will provide valuable insight. 

With our team of experienced journalists and corporate communicators, participants will develop an understanding of the 'rules of the media game', what journalists find newsworthy, and the impact media relations can have to your business objectives.

As a pivotal part of the training you will have access to former 7 News presenter, Steve Titmus, who is fresh from the news desk, and is now part of the Cole Lawson team. His expertise includes a 25 year media career, including 15 years as a News and Sports Presenter.  With a strong background in journalism, Steve has experience reporting on major events, commentating sports, telecast hosting and managing a newsroom as a Head of News.

He has also managed an office of a full-service communications agency with a decade of experience across a vast range of clients and industries, including private enterprise, government, finance, utilities, property, construction, retail, sport and tourism. Steve is experienced in strategic communications, corporate relations, stakeholder and community engagement, government relations, crisis management and media relations.

Participants: 
Cole Lawson's Media Awareness is suited to any organisation from small to medium enterprises, government, community groups and not-for-profits, to private and listed companies. We also accept referrals from media teams wishing to assist other employees to understand the importance of media relations.
