Media Awareness

Media is an essential, valuable and sometimes inescapable part of the business landscape. If your role requires you to liaise with the media, or work with those who do, this half-day session will provide valuable insight. 

With our team of experienced journalists and corporate communicators, participants will develop an understanding of the 'rules of the media game', requirements of journalists, as well as the connection media relations can have to your business objectives.

- A day in the life of a radio, TV, online and print journalist 
- What to do when a journalist calls 
- Interview basics (including news, program and feature interviews) 
- How to develop and stick to your key messages 
- Your style, presentation and physical presence in radio/TV interviews 
- How to handle difficult or controversial situations. 
- The impact of social media on the news agenda
- The benefits of honesty and transparency 
- The impact of social media on the news agenda. 

Participants: 
Cole Lawson's Media Awareness is suited to any organisation from small to medium enterprises, government, community groups and not-for-profits, to private and listed companies. We also accept referrals from media teams wishing to assist other employees to understand the importance of media relations. This module is highly beneficial for organisations without in-house media teams.
